Walking with snowshoe to an ice-wall

You can experience the wintry nature even by walking – with snowshoes. On our snowshoe trip to an ice wall, you will learn this fun, traditional way of moving in the snow. Also learn how to do ice fishing and having a nice Lappish picnic.

We will start our trip from the main building, where we will first check that your shoes and clothes are suited for the wintry trip. If necessary, we will lend you thermo overall, shoes and gloves. The guide will help you to choose the right shoes and walking sticks and tell you how to walk with the shoes.

The guide will lead you through a snowy spruce forest. The track is ready-made, but if you wish, you can also try virgin snow for a while to see how it feels to walk there.

Near Tammukkalampi pond, we will climb up to a beautiful ice wall, high up on the slope, formed by constantly dripping icy water. The icicles have gradually grown longer and thicker, leaving a small cave behind them. The ice wall is breathtakingly beautiful, so please make sure that you have a camera and enough film rolls with you.

From the ice wall, we will climb to Kota where the guide will make reindeer burgers (dark rye bread, reindeer burger, cheese and salami) and make coffee over an open fire.

We will then walk to the lake where you can try ice-fishing
